BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 15 February. – The Informative Community Programme (PMB) organised by the Community Unit, Department of Information continued with a visit to Madgrow Tech, located at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
The participants of the programme consisting of the Mukim and Village Consultative Council (MVCC) and the residents of Kampung Sungai Besar, Kampung Sungai Belukut and Kampung Menunggol were briefed on the investment opportunities in the agriculture and agri-food sector in Brunei Darussalam delivered by the Head of International Affairs Unit and Public Relations Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Awang Hirman bin Haji Abu.
During the briefing, he explained that the Agriculture and Agrifood industry is one of the key sectors that contribute to the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exports and economic diversification.
He also spoke about the department’s vision, mission and strategic goals.
The briefing resumed with an explanation of Madgrow Tech delivered by its Administration Service Manager, Dayang Nor Diyanah binti Haji Mohd Suhardi and Agricultural Technologist Nur Maziyyah binti Haji Abdul Hamid.
The participants of the programme then had the opportunity to visit Madgrow Tech Green House.
Among the objectives of the programme are to enhance knowledge and to increase the development and efforts of the government in improving the standard of living of the people such as through briefings and visits. With hopes of strengthening identity and to encourage spirit and confidence in continued cooperation in supporting the country’s aspirations.
In the afternoon, the participants continued the programme with their final visit to Rimba Garden Central (RGC).
